Denny (Chris) Welch wasn't born in Milwaukee, but he made it his home. He lived here, worked here, found a lover here and together they bought a home.

Chris worked at several bars in the 1980's, including the old Shadows and Nikos. He also was an optician for Sears Optical for several years.

Chris was also active in AIDS causes. He was a volunteer, doing phone work out of the MAP (Milwaukee AIDS Project) offices, and opened his home to several people with AIDS who needed a place to live.
