John Vanden Busch, known to his friends as "Jack", was born on August 11, 1941 in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, moving to Milwaukee in 1970. He was known not only as a good, solid and generous friend, but as a person with a strong sense of humor and an out-going hand to everyone. Jack was fondly remembered by his friends at the "This Is It" bar for many things; his smile, his white Caddy (Cadillac), but most of all, for the interest that he always took in others. Jack had a phrase that had come from his childhood that he ujsed for his closest friends: "You old potlicker, you." What it meant no one was ever quite sure...

Jack died on Saturday, April 8, 1989 in a Milwaukee hospital of complications due to kidney failure.
