We're taking our show back on the road!
Last summer, we celebrated our 30th anniversary with a road trip spanning every corner of Wisconsin. Our mighty team of volunteers brought our traveling exhibit to over 20 hometown pride celebrations, summer festivals, and civic events in every corner of Wisconsin -- a route spanning over 7,000 miles!
It’s never been more important for our history to be seen. With nearly 50 pride organizations in Wisconsin, we have more opportunities than ever before.
That's why we're bringing back the Summer to Be Seen tour for 2025!
"We were honored to see so much reverence for our elders and so much ownership for our history," said Michail Takach, chair of the History Project.
"Being connected to heritage strengthens community identity, well-being, and sustainability. Our work ensures that our history can be seen everywhere, even in communities attempting to restrict or reduce LGBTQ visibility."
We seek to support emerging pride organizations who are making history throughout Wisconsin! Our goal is to provide unique education, outreach and engagement opportunities, while identifying local stories we can preserve and elevate, and inspiring local activists to stand up and be seen.
We'll be producing an entirely new exhibit for summer 2025, while increasing interactive experiences, on-site interview opportunities, and meaningful takeaways.
Last year's tour expenses were 95% financed by the Board of Directors out-of-pocket.
We thank you for your support and consideration. Together, we are truly unstoppable!
