We have identified that a bar named 'Cavalier Lounge' existed in La Crosse from about 1993 to 2001, based on listings in "Bar Guides" in various LGBT media in Wisconsin. However, thus far we have located only a single advertisement or article for the bar in media: an ad from 'G-Street' magazine (v1-07, January 2001). We continue to look for additional ads, articles or other references.

Victor M. Marcias-Gonzalez, Professor of History at UW-La Crosse, reports the bar was primarily 'Gay' until about 2001, and afterward was "Gay friendly" (which explains why it disappeared from LGBT bar guides after 2001). He reports the following ownership timeline however:

  • 1993 to 1998 -- (unknown)
  • 1998 to 2001 -- Ann Allen
  • 2002 t0 2007 (gay friendly) -- Chris Kahlow

More information about this business is welcomed from anyone who can contribute it.
