The After Dark Lounge opened at 2839 Harrison Street in Oshkosh in 1980. Located on the outskirts of town, the bar was prone to harassment and even a few physical altercations inside the bar and in the parking lot.

The bar's matchbook covers read "Where You Meet New Friends"; but the bar was not found listed in any national gay guides or in any of the early Wisconsin LGBT publications. The bar closed after about one year.

The history of LGBT bars in Northeastern Wisconsin was the subject of an excellent article in the Green Bay Press Gazette in 2020.

More information about this business is welcome from anyone who can contribute same.
