Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project Fundraiser
If you appreciate the History Project's work, we hope you'll support the second fundraiser in our 29-year history!
We are a self-funded, independent, all-volunteer, non-profit team -- and we provide most services FREE to the community.
Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, Candi has lived and worked around the world as an entertainer.
Candi got her start at La Cage in Chicago, and later joined the cast of Milwaukee’s Club 219 Girls for several years. She won the very first Miss Wisconsin Continental in 1983, also winning the titles of Miss Trans USA 2019, All American Goddess 2009, and Miss Gay Universe 2005, which was crowned in Sydney, Australia.
Candi is world-famous for her Cher impersonation, having headlined a Cher Tribute Show that toured Australia, Asia, and the United States, and hosted a Cher cruise with Chad Michaels of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
In 2019, she helped plan the first fundraiser for the Clock, Inc. LGBT Community Center in Rock Island, Illinois. She served on its board of directors until 2022.
After many years our of state, Candi recently returned to Milwaukee. She looks forward to reconnecting with old friends, making new friends, and getting involved in the community.
