Larraine McNamara-McGraw is a Nana, mom, lawyer, community activist, political activist, ardent traveler, and overall lover of people. Larraine arrived in Milwaukee in the 1960s to attend Marquette University. She marched for open housing behind Vel Phillips and Father Groppi and stood vigil outside the Safety Building in solidarity with The Milwaukee Fourteen. Upon graduation, she went to Europe at the height of the Vietnam war. After returning to Milwaukee, Larraine married, raised three daughters, went to law school, ran for office and won. She was the 10th woman elected to the Milwaukee Common Council. She is still practicing law and loving it.
